Desert willow (Chilopsis linearis) provides some lovely color and blooms for this late in the season - Leslie Uppinghouse, a lead horticulturist at the Wildflower Center, tells us more about desert willow in this video. Leslie says you can, but it's not necessary, to deadhead the blooms to keep it blooming a little bit longer. It is a great plant that benefits pollinators including hummingbirds and bumblebees.
