The ‘Portrait of Dédie’ is one of the sixty portraits made by Amedeo Modigliani in 1918 while living in Paris and Nice. The head leaning to the side in a melancholic posture is characterizes the portrait of the artist. The woman in the painting is Odette Hayden, called Dédie, who would become the first wife of the cubist painter Henri Hayden.
