Four days off at Easter is ok for Basil Zempilas and his family but not for you and yours. In 2022, he told Triple M’s Xavier Ellis ‘you get four days’ over Easter. But for thousands of shift workers that’s simply not true. Now in 2025, as Opposition Leader, he spearheaded a campaign to axe Easter Saturday from the new public holiday changes. So, while Basil is happy with Easter Saturday as part of his Easter break, he doesn’t want ordinary shift workers to get any penalty rates for working it.
