Nexstar Media Group is buying broadcast rival Tegna for $6.2 billion, bringing together two major players in U.S. television and the country’s local news landscape.

With the announced sale of 10TV, two companies may own Central Ohio's four commercial television stations by the end of 2026.

KOIN 6 News’ Parent Company, Nexstar Media Group, announced it has entered into an agreement to acquire TEGNA, pending regulatory approval. Nexstar currently owns and operates more than 200 local TV stations across the country.
