Russell Henley ran wild around East Lake Golf Club in the first round of the 2025 Tour Championship, and in the process, he ran to the top of the leaderboard in the final leg of the FedEx Cup Playoffs.

Scheffler didn't miss a beat from last week — really the last five months — and finished with a 25-foot par save on the 16th and two birdies for a 63. That's his lowest round by two shots in his six appearances at East Lake.

The official purse at East Lake Golf Club in Atlanta is $40 million, an all-time record for any individual PGA Tour event. The winner will also claim a record $10 million for his victory

It will be a quick turnaround for the 30 players competing in the 2025 Tour Championship as second-round tee times have been moved up Friday due to forecasted thunderstorms in the Atlanta area. As such,
