Luis Suárez scored Miami’s winner in the 89th minute from the spot. Without Lionel Messi, Inter Miami survived and dramatically defeated Tigres 2–1 to move on to the 2025 Leagues Cup semifinals thanks to a brace from Luis Suárez.

Despite not having their talisman Lionel Messi for the match, Inter Miami were able to get past Tigres 2-1, advancing to the semifinals of the Leagues Cup behind Luis Suarez burying two penalties to win the match.
