Reporters Sharyn Jackson and Joy Summers and the whole Taste crew spent the first day of the 2025 Minnesota State Fair trying all of the new State Fair foods — more than 80 bites. Now, they want to answer your questions about their rankings.

The fair drew large crowds for its first day Aug. 21, with plenty of new food, drinks, rides and entertainment to enjoy.

Dan Rusoff and Joe Kaplan won’t name names, but one of the big-time musicians performing at the State Fair this year will be served local pork chops with peach cobbler for dinner before they take the Grandstand stage. Another is getting a shore lunch-style meal with Minnesota walleye.
