Chattanooga Police have cleared the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga after a report of an active shooter locked down college and city government buildings for more than an hour Aug. 21. A 911 call about an active shooter with a rifle on campus came into Hamilton County dispatch at about 12:29 p.m. eastern time.

An all clear has been issued for the University of Tennessee's campus in Chattanooga after it went into lockdown following reports of a possible shooting, the university said on Aug. 21. "The UTC campus is ALL CLEAR. The lockdown has been lifted," the university said. "Law enforcement found no evidence of a threat."
