When Peacemaker first aired, there was no DCU. James Gunn had written and directed The Suicide Squad, and he had cooked up a way to extend that story by following John Cena’s character on a new mission.

James Gunn recently confirmed whether Green Arrow is canon in the rebooted DCU, after he was mentioned in Peacemaker Season 1. Green Arrow, AKA Oliver Queen, is a popular character in the DC Universe who has yet to make his debut in the movies.

James Gunn ’s first phase of the DCU has always included John Cena ’s Peacemaker, but as we are still ahead of the character’s second season in his series, we don’t exactly know what the future holds for him.
