Texas Democrat Nicole Collier made headlines earlier this month when she, along with dozens of her colleagues, refused to come to the state Capitol as part of an effort to block Republicans from passing new congressional maps.

Upon returning after a 15-day walkout, Texas House Democrats were asked for consent to be escorted off the floor by DPS officers. Nicole Collier refused and was locked in the chamber Monday night.

State Rep. Nicole Collier of Fort Worth is the only Democrat who refused Republican leaders’ orders to sign a permission slip and accept a police escort in order to leave the chamber.
