The Tampa Bay Buccaneers will be without star wide receiver Chris Godwin Jr. as the team opens training camp this week. According to Rick Stroud of the Tampa Bay Times, Godwin will miss the start of training camp as he continues to work his way back from an ankle injury he suffered in 2024.

Wide receiver Jalen McMillan was placed on injured reserve, meaning he will not be able to play until Week 5 at a minimum. ESPN's Jenna Laine reports, though, that McMillan could more than likely be out until after the Bucs bye Week, which would have him return in November.

His knee injury from last season could mean he's back around a year later, perhaps around Weeks 7-10, as Niners head coach Kyle Shanahan discussed in training camp. The new Los Angeles Chargers running back suffered an eye injury in a July 4th fireworks incident. No word about exactly when he's back, but seems like Week 1 is realistic.
