DALLAS - A Texas law that went into effect this week brings new management to the Texas Lottery. The Texas Lottery Commission was abolished earlier this year after facing controversy, and lawmakers handed off responsibility for the Texas Lottery and charitable bingo games to the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation.
Administrators with the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation have officially taken over management of the lottery commission.
More than 2.2 million Powerball tickets sold in the United States won prizes ranging from $4 to $2 million, the lottery said.
