An explosion caused by a gas leak has destroyed a building in Wilmington. Wilmington police responded to a gas leak on Tuesday, Aug. 19, after a vehicle turning on to New Centre Drive from Bob King Drive struck a gas line after driving off the road, Wilmington Police Department Public Information Officer Greg Willett said at a news conference.
O ne person was taken into custody Tuesday after driving into a natural gas line, causing a fire and explosion at a North Carolina veterinary clinic that injured three firefighters, according to local news outlet WWAY. The driver allegedly showed signs of impairment, WWAY reported.
