SEATTLE - Sunny weather will continue in western Washington through the holiday weekend. A strong ridge of high pressure will stay in place through the MLK Jr. holiday weekend, bringing chilly clear mornings and lots of daytime sunshine.

Showers are ending after a wet start to the week, with warmer temperatures and drier weather moving into western Washington. Flood alerts remain in effect for parts of the region, including Skagit and Whatcom counties and the Skokomish River near Potlatch.

Following Western Washington’s round-after-round of rainfall, the Seattle area will dry out beginning in the middle of the week.
